Solution

Nature-based solutions are green systems to reduce antibiotics, pathogens and antimicrobial resistance from aquatic ecosystems.

Nature-based solutions are green systems to reduce antibiotics, pathogens and antimicrobial resistance from aquatic ecosystems. They are defined as “living solutions” inspired by nature to address various societal challenges in a resourceefficient and adaptable manner, while delivering simultaneously economic, social, and environmental benefits. Nature-based solutions are included in the EU Research & Innovation agenda as an essential component to greening the economy and achieving sustainable development.

The holistic approach of the NATURE project will allow monitoring nature-based solutions along the continuum from wastewater to riverine and coastal areas.
